Who is Thor 2099? 2099 Alpha #1 [Preview]

2099 Alpha #1 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, and who doesn’t love a super-mega-crossover event Alpha issue? Don’t answer that. Nick Spencer, Viktor Bogdanovic, Marte Gracia, and some poor fool who lettered this thing for less than even the colorist makes and doesn’t even get their name on the cover because Marvel, and we can’t stress this enough, doesn’t respect letterers (and why should they?), are the culprits behind this thing. Let’s check out the preview.

…and into the hands of a guy we’re gonna call… mustache Thor? But what about Cecil McAdams, the colorful Thor on the cover? Alas, he’s dead. Probably. Unfortunately, Mustache Thor 2099 is not much of a match for these Public Eye agents.

So not the real Thor 2099 then? But wait… how was he using the hammer? You know what, nevermind. It’s a super-mega-crossover event. Just go with it.

Apparently, the real Thor 2099, whoever he is, is not a nice guy.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
