Is This a Preview of Hawkeye's Fate? Next Week's Avengers No Road Home #2 (Preview)

Nyx — we're talking about the villain from the new weekly Avengers series, the Queen of Night, not the 2003 comic book series that introduced X-23 to the world — is on a rampage in this preview of next week's Avengers No Road Home #2. She's slaughtering Greek gods, and/or transforming them into her servants.

Which is fair game, we suppose. Besides Hercules, does anyone even really care about the Greek pantheon? If Nyx were killing Asgardians, it might be a different story. Then again, the Marvel Universe needs disposable cannon fodder to make their stories feel more important. And the best part is, people won't even remember the Greek gods were killed off by the next time Marvel needs to kill them off to make a story feel important!

Most importantly though, how does this bode for Hawkeye, who the solicit says will "pay the price of defiance?" Is this preview of Avengers No Road Home #2 also a preview of Hawkeye's fate? If so, we have just one thing to say: "Not like this!"

Avengers No Road Home #2 kills Hawkeye next Wednesday.
