Marvel Goes All Red Dead Redemption in Next Week’s Gunhawks #1

To celebrate its 80th Anniversary, Marvel Comics is bringing back classic titles from the past. Next week sees the return of Gunhawks, (though with no Reno Jones or Kid Cassidy seen in this preview), one of the first comics in the Western genre Marvel has published in a while. What’s a Western comic, you ask? Well, you know the video game Red Dead Redemption 2? It’s a lot like that, except a comic book.

Just look at Dean Donnelly, the comic’s version of Arthur Morgan, as he enters a standoff with a group of bounty hunters. Thankfully, he appears to have his Deadeye core fully charged…

See? Just like the video game.

Gunhawks #1 hits stores next Wednesday, and for $3.99, you could afford it after about 16 hours of completing missions in Red Dead Online.

Gunhawks #1
(W) Maria Lapham, David Lapham (A) Luca Pizzari (CA) Gerardo Zaffino
For Marvel’s 80th anniversary we’ve set our sights on bringing some old titles back into the herd, and we’ve brought in Stray Bullets” David & Maria Lapham for a bullet-riddled saga of violence, vengeance and Western justice. In the days of the Old West there were plenty of fearsome folk… cowboys, rustlers, lawmen and outlaws…but few were as fearsome as THE GUNHAWKS!

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
