Next Week’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 Starts Off with a Really Bad Idea

Next week’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man starts with an oft-used narrative device. Spider-Man is keeping a journal, and what he’s writing it serves as the captions for the story. It’s a clever idea, except…

…it’s a really bad idea. Sure, it might be good for the story. But it’s a terrible idea for Miles! What if somebody finds that thing?!

The journal is a school assignment, and the assignment demands the journals be afforded absolute privacy.

But is that rule going to stop Spider-Man’s enemies from getting ahold of it and using it to track down and harm the people he loves? It’s almost as if the creators are setting up a future story here.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man debuts on Wednesday. Here’s a preview, which the giant ugly watermarks will confirm is taken from a Multiversity EX-X-XCLUSIVE.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
