Fantastic Four Returns this Summer from Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli

In a special announcement on Twitter, Marvel announced that the Fantastic Four is returning to Marvel in a monthly ongoing series, featuring the return of Reed and Sue Richards and starring the original team of Reed, Sue, Ben, and Johnny, launching in August. The creative team will be Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli.

Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski said that Marvel Two-in-One will continue alongside the new series. The company teased the announcement this morning with hourly tweets featuring famous Marvel adjectives combined with numbers:

And of course, at noon Eastern, the fourth tweet was the video announcement from Cebulski, followed by this:

That's all well and good… but now we have to ask the question: can we expect an Uncanny X-Men reboot as well?

"New Series. New Creative Teams. New Beginnings. And New Directions," Cebulski named in the video as the four tenets Marvel is focused on this Summer, as Ryan Penagos touted new Captain America, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel #1s. Cebulski then revealed that "the first family is returning to Marvel on a monthly basis," noting that the original team will star in the book. Cebulski said that Chip Zdarsky was doing a great job with Marvel Two-in-One, but they've been waiting for the right creative team to be free to bring back Fantastic Four. That team, it seems, is Slott and Pichelli.

Cebulski and Penagos touted Slott's love for the Fantastic Four and encyclopedic knowledge of Marvel history. Pichelli's design, storytelling, facial expressions, and body language were praised.

"It's the right time, and we wanted the right team to do it, and we wanted the right story to come across," Cebulksi said. "And when Dan finished Amazing Spider-Man, he came, he pitched the story to us, and we sat there with our jaws on the table as he pitched it. We knew we found the right guy."

Do you agree?

Penagos said to keep an eye on Marvel's various podcasts and video shows for more details in the near future, with Slott appearing soon on This Week in Marvel.
