Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Will be Getting a Console Release this Year

Pillars of Eternity 2 will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch later this year, according to Game InformerPillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been in development since 2016, and after a successful crowdfunding campaign with fig.co, Obsidian Entertainment finally gave the game a release date last month, and the PC and Mac versions of the game will hit in April.

The original Pillars of Eternity released on PC in 2015, followed by a console release last year, but this time it seems the wait between PC and console versions won't be nearly as long. Game Informer indicates the Pillars II console port will come this holiday season.

PC development is being handled by Obsidian, while the console ports will be helmed by Red Cerberus.

Pre-orders for the PC version are open now, with a Standard, Deluxe, and Obsidian Edition available. All three will come with pre-order bonuses, with the Obsidian Edition coming with some physical bonus items like a "cloth map of the Deadfire region, an Explorer's notepad and a set of postcards that render the Deadfire Archipelago in beautiful detail," as well as the first three expansions for the game.

There's no word on pre-orders for the console versions just yet, but those will likely open up sometime early this summer. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will release on PC and Mac on April 3rd, 2018.
