George Perez Sketches A Deadpool / Deathstroke Hybrid

An interesting post this weekend from George Perez who was commissioned to draw a unique picture for a fan back in 2013.

There are a lot of easily noted similarities between Marvel's Merc-with-a-Mouth, Deadpool and DC's resident bad-ass Deathstroke, the most obvious being their real names.. Wade Wilson and Slade Wilson respectively. There are also rumors that upon seeing Rob Liefeld's new villain for The New Mutants, writer Fabian Nicieza said "that's Deathstroke from the Teen Titans". Some even say that Deadpool was originally created as a parody of Deathstroke.

Seems one of the few people who hadn't heard all of the speculation was Perez (who co-created Deathstroke with Marv Wolfman). But the fan asking for the commission was happy to fill him in. This is what Perez said along with the image that he decided to repost this weekend because of the upcoming Deadpool film.

I wasn't particularly aware of the connection between these two characters until the person who commissioned this piece pointed it out to me. I hope you all enjoy this unusual merging.
