First Look at Marvel’s New Star Wars #1 Shows Immediate Aftermath of Empire Strikes Back

Marvel’s Star Wars is relaunching this January as Marvel tries to recreate that Star Wars #1 magic that once sold a million copies. Of course, without the high midichlorian count of LootCrate to help them out, that might prove a little difficult. Then again, this new series is picking up after the events of the best Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back. Second best was The Last Jedi. Don’t @ me.

In fact, it’s picking up directly after it, as Marvel has just released a first look preview on their website, and it shows the immediate aftermath of that film’s ending, with Luke sitting on the Millennium Falcon, recalling the events that occurred moments earlier when Darth Vader made his earth-shattering reveal.

After that, Lando, Chewie, and Princess Leia discuss what to do about Han Solo, who is now the captive of Boba Fett.

Check out the preview below, as final order cutoff for this series is next Monday.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
