It’s certainly an interesting way to go, and we kinda like it, as people who read all the X-Books anyway. For those who only read one or some of the titles, this could be an aggravating way to collect the books, forcing them to buy every series (and just one issue per trade, so essentially serialized in the same way the single issues are).

Of course, Marvel may decide to collect the series individually later, but then the wait will be even longer for people who want to buy it that way. But if they continue to do it this way, it could solve a lot of problems for new readers, as Marvel’s current trade paperback program is less than ideal when it comes to having an easy-to-understand reading order.

It would be even more interesting to see comics released this way first, anthology-style, rather than as single issues collected later, but baby steps here.

What do you think? Is this a good idea?

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
