Just Chillin' With Apocalypse in Excalibur #1 [Preview]

Excalibur #1 is in stores next week from Marvel Comics, the next Dawn of X title from Tini Howard, Marcus To, Erick Arciniega, and some poor letterer whose name doesn't deserve to be on the cover, apparently. We've got a preview below.

This new series puts Betsy Braddock in the role of Captain Britain, and will seemingly focus on Otherworld.

But first, at the Braddock Academy…

Betsy is feeling some social anxiety, but despite her wishes, her brother will never be allowed on Krakoa thanks to mutant nationalism.

At the party, Betsy runs into Apocalypse, who is in fact allowed on Krakoa.

But it looks like Apocalypse has ditched his human name for a Krakoan one.

And it seems he needs Betsy in order to breach the Krakoan portal to Otherworld.

Excalibur #1 is in comic book stores on Wednesday.
