Is Gary Larson's The Far Side About to Make a Comeback?

Running for fifteen years from 1980 to 1995, Gary Larson's newspaper comic strip The Far Side is amongst the elite of the format, at least for old geezers like us. But Larson has always been against display his work online, so anyone after 1995 who wants to read it would have to buy in collected format (or hope they have a relative who hoards old newspapers). That could be about to change though.

For the first time in 20 years, reports The Daily Cartoonist, Larson's Far Side website has been updated with what appears to be new art, and text that says:

Uncommon, unreal, and (soon-to-be) unfrozen.
A new online era of The Far Side is coming!

Does this portend that Larson will be publishing classic Far Side strips online? Is he reviving the strip, as Berkeley Breathed did with Bloom County in 2015? There's no other information available at this time, but if The Far Side does make a triumphant return, it would surely be one of the biggest stories in comics. Even if the old strips are simply made available online, it would be a great way to introduce their surreal humor to a new audience.

Let us know what you're hoping for in the comments.
