Love in the Tampon Aisle in Runaways #21 (Preview)

Things haven't been going to well for Chase in the pages of Runaways. After rescuing his formerly-dead girlfriend from the past, Gert found it difficult to connect with the now-adult Chase, partially because it's kind of creepy that he's still trying to date a high school girl. Making matters worse for him, Gert has found new love in the form of the severed head of android Victor. So yeah, overall, he's not having a very good year.

But perhaps, as seen in this preview of Runaways #21, Chase's luck is about to change. It begins, as most great love stories do, while searching for tampons at the local Haul Mart.

There, a presumably underpaid employee takes pity on him, asking him if he needs a girl guide for the tampons… but Chase, smooth as can be, is confident in his tampon knowledge.

And since nothing is more attractive than a man who knows his way around a tampon, the employee takes a new interest in Chase.

Is this young love blooming? Or will she turn out to be an alien or an interdimensional demon or something worse? You know what, come to think of it, that does sound more like his luck.
