Crunchyroll Talks Localization in Anime in New Mini Doc

Crunchryoll has been having a lot of fun lately with some mini documentaries. The first covered the popularity of Gundpla models and how they saved the Gundam anime franchise. The latest talks about localization, what it is, and how it has forced changes in anime series for western audiences over the years.

Localization is a pretty interesting topic, especially when it comes to venerable shows like Robotech, where Hikaru suddenly becomes Rick, and mostly to placate Western audiences. After those adaptations, the shows end up being a peculiar hybrid of Japanese and American shows!
