Small Town Rocked by Canine Conspiracy in Pulse Pounding Preview of ‘Bags (Or a Story Thereof)’

Explosive publisher BOOM! Studios has released a first look preview at Bags (Or a Story Thereof), the new original graphic novel by Patrick McHale, creator of the Emmy Award-winning Cartoon Network series Over The Garden Wall, artist Gavin Fullerton (Disney’s Space Chickens in Space), and colorist Whitney Cogar (Steven Universe), available in stores July 2019. But what at first glance appears to be a fun, all-ages tale is slowly revealed to be anything but that as a lonely man named John becomes increasingly desperate after realizing that anyone in his creepy town could have kidnapped his poor dog, Beth.

Who has taken Beth? What do the police have to do with it? And what about the @#$%ing Walrus? Goo goo gajoob?

BOOM! Editor Shannon Watters, who yes, technically is paid to say nice things about BOOM! comics also heaps praise upon the comic:

Patrick’s original short story comes to life with Gavin’s stunning art and Whitney’s classic colors as we follow a man who is shaken from his normal routine by a surprising and unexpected loss. In the wake of the disappearance of his dog, John follows an increasingly erratic train of thought which leads down an unusual and dangerous path until it may be too late to find his way back.

Psychological horror runs rampant in this terrifying tale, which hits comic shops on July 17th and bookstores on July 23rd.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
