Almost a month ago, we reported that Humanoids was looking for a sales & marketing director in Los Angeles. Word is that they've found their person. Humanoids, Inc. has hired Jud Meyers to be their new Director of Sales & Marketing.

Jud began his career in comics behind the scenes working for Titan Publishing in London. from 1989 to 1994, he managed and helped launch comic book retailers including Forbidden Planet and the Virgin Megastore. In 2003, he opened up a shop in Sherman Oaks, California called Earth-2 Comics. By it's fourth year it had already won the Will Eisner Spirit of Retailing Award. In 2009, Jud partnered with Geoff Johns to buy the San Fernando Valley Golden Apple Comics store and in 2012 he opened Blastoff Comics in North Hollywood. So he's been around a bit.

Meyers said:

"I've been a dedicated fan and committed retailer of Humanoids product since I was a boy, so this really is a dream for me. I'm looking forward to bringing all of my sales experience to the publishing side of our industry. With the initiatives Humanoids has planned for the English-language market, hiring a retailer shows their dedication to a strong partnership with the direct market. The next few years will be groundbreaking. And fun!"

Alex Donoghue, Humanoids' COO, said of the hire:

"After getting to know Jud through his fantastic stores and his continued passion for our catalog, we are thrilled to have him join our team and shepherd our sales and marketing efforts."
