Much has been made about this cover to the new Star Trek: The Next Generation: Mirror Broken series, getting its first issue out on May 6th for free. Sleeveless, bearded, ripped Picard. Databorg. Eighties rock chick Troi.

But we've also had a sneak peek inside the issue by  Scott Tipton, David Tipton and J. K. Woodward, out on May 6th for Free Comic Book Day. And it highlights a very different character, in the Star Trek parallel universe where all sorts of naughty things happened.

Lieutenant Barclay, as portrayed by Dwight Schultz, who appeared occasionally on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Voyager.

It's not the first time this character has been portrayed in the Mirror Universe. In the Star Trek novel, Dark Mirror by Diane Duane, Barclay is Captain Picard's personal guard and was murdered by that universe's counterpart of Deanna Troi. In a different continuity, in David Mack's short story For Want of a Nail, he is a technician working for the Terran Rebellion.

Looks like we have a third version?
