Red Sonja Cover Contest Runner Up Is Tapped For Special Variant Cover

Back in the fall of 2014, Bleeding Cool wrote about  a cover art contest for Red SonjaMatt Brooks won and had his cover used on issue #14. And then he got a regular cover gig a few months later. Now we are being told that the runner up for the contest, Jason Meents, was tapped to do this special Red Sonja Funko Variant for #4. Congrats to Jason. This issue will be shipping in April.

But that's not all that the new Red Sonja series is doing to bring up new talent. Cosplayer Ashley Du appeared on a variant cover of issue #1 and fan artist Eric Bogue was the Red Sonja Artist Spotlight inside the first issue. Ashley had a signing a The Fantasy Shop, in St. Louis, MO. Eric signed at Heroes and Villains Comics in the Bay Area, a story that he used to work at.
