Rocket Racoon, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Nebula, And More Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity War?

groot

There's been a lot of rumor and speculation about which Marvel Cinematic Universe characters will appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. A new rumor making its way around reputable websites like Eisner award winning Comic Book Resources seems to have a definitive source: an "official" casting call for extras for Avengers filming in Georgia. However,

Comic Book Resources reports the rumor as fact with a straight headline claiming these characters are confirmed, when what they should have done, like Bleeding Cool, is put a question mark in the headline to cover their bases. We'll take that Eisner now, thanks.

The source of the casting call, a blog called Disney Casting Calls, has a pretty glaring typo in the casting call copy, casting perhaps a little bit of doubt on its veracity. It also seems to go out of its way to list the actors and which characters they are playing, first and foremost in the text, which seems unnecessary for an industry job posting, and far more suited as rumor bait for comic book news sites. The actors alone would probably have been sufficient.

Still, it's not like typos are unheard of around the Bleeding Cool offices *cough*RichJohnston*cough*, and what do we know – maybe extras are as interested in what characters will appear in Avengers: Infinity War as clickbait websites.

Characters that will appear in Avengers: Infinity War, provided this casting call is actually legit, include Thor, Thanos, Star Lord, Bucky, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Gamora, Nebula, Hawkeye, Captain America, the Scarlet Witch, ROCKET RACCOON, Groot, Nick Fury, Ant-Man, Drax, Black Panther, The Hulk, and Iron Man.

Here's the casting call, which lists all the actors who will appear in the film, as well as "when" and "were" to go if you want to apply:

Starring in "Avengers: Infinity War" is BAFTA Award nominee Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin as Thanos, Saturn Award Winner Chris Pratt as Star Lord / Peter Quill, Teen Choice Awards nominee Sebastian Stan as Bucky, four-time Golden Globe Award nominee Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Academy Award winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, ALMA Award winner Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Empire Award winner Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, two-time Saturn Award nominee Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, BAFTA Awards nominee Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet, four-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Vin Diesel as Groot, Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, British Independent Film Awards nominee Benedict Wong as Wong, Action on Film Award winner Dave Bautista as Drax, BAFTA Film Award nominee Paul Bettany as Vision, Santa Barbara International Film Festival Virtuoso Award winner Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther, three-time Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk, and two-time Academy Award nominee Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man.
