Watch Out Folks! Big Honking Spoilers For Avengers: Rage Against Ultron HC

Avengers_Rage_of_Ultron_Interior-600x910Consider this your Imminent Spoiler Warning! Imminent Spoiler Warning!

Of late Marvel's original graphic novels have been out-of-continuity comics aimed at the Marvel movie crowd. Good stories, sure, but not affecting the main comic book line.

It appears that Avengers: Rage Of Ultron may be the exception to that. Previously, it was reported as being "Marvel's Killing Joke" moment.

Out in bookstores today, ahead of the comic book store debut, there are major implications for…

… okay look, we're talking about this, but seriously. Would you like to read the comic first? Would you like to have read about the fate of Barbara Gordon in Killing Joke in an article or in the comic?

Because there are spoilers. Big honking ones coming.

Right.

big-spoiler

There are major implications for Hank Pym, the Ant Man.

Unusual, considering the upcoming Ant-Man movie. But the film does cast Michael Douglas as an ageing Ant-Man. Perhaps this is a way to get rid of the younger-looking Hank Pym Ant Man from the Marvel Universe,

And, yes, I did say get rid. An e-mail comes in from a Bleeding Cool reader, and seriously if you want to avoid spoilers stop right now. There will be no going back. If your curiosity has been piqued, and you suddenly want to check out the graphic novel, then for heaven' sake, turn back.

If you still have no intention of buying the graphic novel, then maybe this may give you reason to go and read it. If you do post this anywhere else though, please be mindful to keep the big spoiler warnings.

Here we go.

Hey Rich, I saw a copy of the new "Avengers: Rage Of Ultron" HC Graphic novel at Barnes & Noble yesterday afternoon. And as you surmised, there's an in-continuity major character "death" at the end. Hank Pym, after being absorbed into Ultron's body, launches into space. A funeral service is held with Wasp delivering the eulogy. Parting shots of Ultron drifting amongst the stars, seemingly disconnected, but with a beating human heart having replaced his core reactor. Pym may not be dead, but his status has certainly changed.

I didn't snap any images, but will tell you that it's beautifully written and illustrated. Should be buzz-worthy tomorrow!

Or even today….
