Rob Liefeld And Bob Layton Cover Dynamite's New FOC Incentives (Updated)

Last week I did a story about Dynamite's new FOC Incentive program. Offering up new covers to retailers who maintained or increased their order numbers at the final order cutoff date. I checked with the publisher about how the program worked on it's first time out.

Solar: Man Of The Atom #2 got 2 new covers, one available with ever 5 issues ordered and the other with every 10 issues ordered. Orders on the book jumped 23%. That's a huge jump and could cushion the normal second issue dip most comics series have.

Now with The Shadow: Midnight In Moscow #1 we can quantify the numbers even more as we know that the initial sales orders were right around 8,000 copies and received 1 new cover available for every 5 books. According to Dynamite, orders increased by 15% or roughly 1,200 copies. That is a strong response especially on a book where only one initial cover was ordered.

Is Dynamite's new FOC incentive program a success? Time will tell that, but it was successful enough to try again with Doctor Spektor #1. Below are the new covers by Rob Liefeld and Bob Layton along with the order qualifications.

FOC Promotion #3: For every 5 COLOR RARE REORDER covers ordered [any combination of ROB LIEFELD and BOB LAYTON covers], retailers may order one (1) DOCTOR SPEKTOR #1 LIEFELD B&W PREMIUM Incentive edition.
