The Daily Show’s Al Madrigal to Write New Comic, “Primos”, For AWA

AWA or Artists, Writers & Artisans Inc is a new comic book publisher from former Marvel publisher Bill Jemas and former EIC Axel Alonso that Bleeding Cool has been reporting on since long before anyone would officially admit that it existed. You can catch up on all our AWA coverage with this handy tag.

It will be launching a slate of new books and titles, with plenty of its A-List creators in attendance, at New York Comic Con – and we may have a sneak peek at one or two more of them.

And that includes a non-comics celebrity, writing his first comic book. Comedian Al Madrigal, best known as a Correspondent on The Daily Show, but also cast in the upcoming Sony/Marvel Comics movie, Morbius, The Living Vampire.¬†And he is now writing his first comic book, titled Primos. No artist named as of yet. But we do have a cover from Dave Johnson and the following strapline… “Cousins By Blood, Heroes By Choice.” Primos being Spanish for Cousins, of course..
