New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Will Not Have Bowsette

Those of you who were hoping to see Bowsette appear in the New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, your dreams have officially been dashed. Nintendo updated their website for the game with all of the information you'll need going in, and the full list of characters shows no sign of the princess/villain crossover. If you're not familiar with the meme, a Twitter post went out showing what Bowser might look like if he managed to get his hands on the Super Crown, which immediately sparked a frenzy so big that it became a national headline. All off of some fanart that wasn't even remotely official.

Those who have gotten their hands on the game in advance have already seen some text in the game showing the words "Sorry Luigi – only Toadette can use this item!" when you check out the item in the game. So not only did Nintendo dash your hopes of seeing Bowser use it, but most of the male cast as well. But, you all still have Deviant Art photos that people have posted for the past few months. Meanwhile, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe will be released on January 11th,
