Epic Games Made Three Billion Dollars From Fortnite in 2018

Well, if you're curious whether or not Epic Games is hurting for money, you now know the company scored big with Fortnite in 2018. TechCrunch received word from a source within the company that this year's total earnings have put the company over three billion dollars over 2018. The scope of that is insane considering Fortnite is free-to-play but makes most of their money selling in-game items, making them not only one of the biggest money-making studios this year, but also making them one of the biggest retailers in online digital merch on the planet. Not even some of the biggest mobile games with microtransactions can hold a candle to that.

Throughout 2018, people were talking about the day when the Fortnite bubble would finally burst. And while people are definitely getting sick of it in popular culture, there's no denying the fanbase has stayed loyal this entire time. We'll see how 2019 pans out, but for now, Epic Games appears to be king on online gaming.
