Vincent D’Onofrio, Others React to ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ Cancellation

Marvel’s Daredevil fans were saddened with last night’s decision from Netflix to cancel the superhero series after it’s third season.

Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Marvel villain Kingpin in the series, commented on the cancellation this morning, posting this Tweet:

“@Daredevil @netflix canceled. Yet Daredevil is still out there blood stained high up poised in the moonlight. Movement below him on the street. A flash of white moving through the sea of darkness Hell’s Kitchen. This image folds into a black suburban screeching into the night.”

Deborah Ann Woll, who played Karen Paige on the series, was the first cast member to react to the news last night, posting:

“I’m so sad that we won’t be continuing this story. Mostly I’ll miss seeing the friends I’ve made everyday. Thank you to every person who contributed to this series over the years. And to because of you we are going out on a high.

We are of course expecting more reactions from additional cast members to roll in, but we can also completely understand the disappointment and probable sadness surrounding the news.

While most fans are hopeful the series could possibly live on via Disney’s streaming service Disney+, it seems unlikely a Daredevil series or film with the Netflix cast would happen.

Seasons 1-3 of the series are still streaming on Netflix now, and we’ll of course let you know what we hear about the future of the last two Marvel series, Jessica Jones and The Punisher.
