New FFVII Remake Image Shown in Background of Square Enix Recruitment Ad

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Square Enix is still recruiting for the FFVII Remake team, among other positions, and one of their recruitment pages includes a shot of lead developer Naoki Hamaguchi's dual-monitors. On one of those appears to be a shot from the remake.

While we've gotten a few other glimpses of Final Fantasy VII Remake in-progress before, this is the first one which shows what could be a boss battle.

Twitter user DKHF4 took the recruitment image and blew it up to get a closer look at the monitor, which you can see below.

While the image is blurry, it appears as if Cloud is standing in front of Air Buster, the second boss from the original Final Fantasy VII. Air Buster is encountered by Cloud, Barrett, and Tifa right after they meant President Shinra for the first time and is a pretty distinctive boss as far as Final Fantasy VII mechs go.
So at the very least, we can say the Air Buster fight is making a return, alongside that whole cross-dressing affair. Other than that, we really aren't sure what content is being remade and what is being added to make the game playable in episodic format.

Square Enix's E3 showcase will take place Monday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. PDT and the FFVII Remake is rumored to be in attendance.

However, it is still unlikely that the game will be playable during E3, nor should we expect to see a release date for it soon.
