Fortnite Shuts Down Jetpacks Almost Immediately After Launch

If you were hoping to be zooming around the Fortnite island with your jetpacks right now, it looks like you'll have to wait a bit longer. Epic Games has pulled the mode about an hour after it launched. The developers released this message below on Twitter, announcing that it has been disabled and that a new mode was added in its place in the meantime.

While the developers didn't address any specific reasons or give a statement as to why they pulled it, several reports on Reddit confirm that the mode came with several bugs, which included the rockets failing to work and the wrong types of ammo appearing with the wrong guns. Not to mention problems loading into the solo option which suddenly vanished without a trace after being online for only 30 minutes while the squad and duo modes were still intact. While we're privy to anything specific, it does seem like all accounts point to the fact that the mode just wasn't ready to go in or hadn't bee tested properly on the main server. Here's hoping it will be restored soon.
