Back in February, comic store Mind’s Eye Comics of Eagan, Minnesota announced that the store was closing, with their final day of operations to be late May. Owner/manager Andrew Troth posted:
Mind’s Eye Comics will cease operations when our lease runs out at the end of May. The store’s business outlook, amid declining revenues and rising costs, does not justify either signing a new lease, or incurring the cost and risk of moving to a new location.
We will continue to operate as usual through the end of April, with no change in hours, staff, product availability, or policies anticipated.
In May, we will not receive most new releases, and we will not participate in the nationwide Free Comic Book Day event on May 5. More details about our plan for closing and vacating the premises over the course of that month will be announced later.
We will communicate individually with our subscription customers over the coming weeks to address their needs and answer any questions.
Thank you to all of the customers, employees, and vendors who have sustained this store over the past 20 years. It has been my honor and pleasure to do my best to serve the needs of my customers, provide a positive work environment, and support the endless variety and potential of comics, that most versatile and inspiring of artistic media, during that time. All of you have helped make that possible. I wish you all the best.

Andrew Troth took a chance on me when he let me work at the store for credit and a discount. Not only did I make amazing friends (Arthur Lender, Mike Liay, Morley Nelson, Kevin Stevenson and more) but it opened the doors for my career in comics.
I always planned to take Michelle Singh there when we next visited MN.
Well… he may have a chance. Of sorts. Because Mind’s Eye Comics is now reopening under new management — in a new location.
Mind’s Eye Comics will reopen in Burnsville’s Heart of the City in June, under new owner Eric Childs. Collin and Neal will remain on staff. Andrew will help with the transition, and expects to enjoy being a loyal customer.
Here’s the official word…
