ReedPOP and Syfy Wire are set to give fans who can’t make it out to Chicago, Seattle or New York City this year the next best thing to being there, with the editorial arm of NBCUniversal’s Syfy cable network striking a deal with the event producer to be the exclusive live-streaming partner for Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2)Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) and New York Comic Con (NYCC).

“We have fans all around the globe that cannot join us in Seattle, Chicago or New York for these three amazing shows. [Syfy Wire is] the premier portal for genre news, editorial and discussion.” – Lance Fensterman, ReedPOP Global Head

Under the terms of the deal, Syfy Wire will host the Live Stages from the main floor at each of the three events; with correspondents conducting interviews with celebrities and creators; providing previews of exclusive merchandise and upcoming films and series; and offering an inside look at each event’s programming slate, including some panel content. Coverage will be free (with some sponsored content) and will be available on Syfy.com, Syfy Wire’s YouTube channel and social-media platforms. Some coverage will also be featured on Syfy’s television channel.

“We’re thrilled to provide [Syfy Wire fans] a front-row seat to so much exclusive content from ReedPOP’s cons, regardless of whether they can attend in person.”

– Matthew Chiavelli, Senior VP of Digital, Syfy

Emerald City Comic Con is first up on the calendar, running from March 1-4 at Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center; with guests including Christopher Lloyd, Felicia Day, Ivy Doomkitty and Shannon Purser. The following month, C2E2 sets up shop at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois from April 6-8; with an announced guest list that includes Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, Dave Bautista, Mark Sheppard, Alan Tudyk and Lennie James.
