Nerd Food: Rose-Infused Lemonade From Fentimans

Every once in a while, I'll drop by one of the gourmet grocery stores around Baltimore. Gourmet food isn't something I normally eat. It's expensive, a lot of the places are out of the way, and again, expensive. But today I stopped in for some bakery goodness and saw this bottle of pretty pink perfection just waiting for me in the cold case.

Nerd Food: Rose-Infused Lemonade From Fentimans

Fentimans is a UK-based company that was started in 1905. They first started out making ginger beer, and over 100 years later they're making much more than just ginger beer. All of the drinks are botanically brewed, which according to the website means:

"Botanical brewing is a time-honoured technique of making superior quality beverages using a combination of infusion, skilful blending and fermentation of natural ingredients. Thomas Fentimans time honoured approach hasn't changed much in over 100 years, with the knowledge and expertise being passed on from generation to generation of the Fentimans family. The result is an authentic drink that tastes simply delicious."

My food store had a limited selection, which included Rose Lemonade, Curiosity Cola, and Ginger Beer. But there's several flavors, and mixers, and alcoholic drinks. I've seriously never heard of this company before today, but I want to try everything.

The Rose Lemonade is exactly how it sounds. It tastes like roses doused in lemonade. There is ginger in the drink, but you won't taste it. I actually like the way rose tastes, so I don't mind it. But if you aren't into floral drinks, you should try something else. On top of that, I can pronounce and recognize every ingredient on the bottle. That's really saying something. One bottle set me back $2, but it was worth it. I can't say enough good things about this drink.
