Harbinger Wars 2 Will Consist Of Double-Sized Issues For $3.99, By Two Creative Teams

Valiant's upcoming 2018 crossover, Harbinger Wars 2 will re-team the creators behind Valiant's two biggest series of 2018: New York Times best-selling writer and Eisner nominee Matt Kindt and artist Tomas Giorello of X-O Manowar, and Oscar nominee Eric Heisserer and artist Raul Allen of Secret Weapons.

However, Kindt and Heisserer will not be co-writing in the traditional sense; instead, each issue of Harbinger Wars 2 will be double-sized featuring at least 44 pages of content — two entire comics — for the standard $3.99 cover price. With a different creative team taking each half.

This is intended to convey a greater scale of Harbinger Wars 2's impact on the Valiant Universe by chronicling simultaneous events at different locations across the United States that will all inform the larger narrative — much like two fronts in a world war.

The first half, by Kindt & Giorello, will follow X-O Manowar's return to Earth, as he is recalled to confront Harbinger's Peter Stanchek, who is building an army of newly activated psiots to face the government (in the wake of the massacre of Generation Zero at the hands of HARD Corps in recent issues of Harbinger Renegade.)

In the second half, by Heisserer & Allen, Livewire will lead her own rebellion in defense of her new team, Secret Weapons. In disobeying the orders of her former allies in the US government, she will be forced to deactivate the entire American power grid — setting the stage for the much of the action across the four-issue event and leading Bloodshot and Ninjak to be sent into blacked-out California in pursuit of her…

Over the course of four issues, Harbinger Wars 2 will feature nearly every major Valiant character — including X-O Manowar, the Harbinger Renegades, Bloodshot, Faith, Ninjak, Livewire, HARD Corps, the Secret Weapons, and dozens more — and will have a major impact on the direction of the direction of the Valiant Universe across 2018 and beyond.

Harbinger Wars 2 #1 (of 4) will arrive in stores on May 2nd, 2018 — the Wednesday before Free Comic Book Day 2018.

Valiant will be detailing more about the series live in person at NYCC on Friday, October 6th at the Valiant Presents Harbinger Wars 2 panel presentation, featuring writer Eric Heisserer, artist Raul Allen, artist Patricia Martin, writer Rafer Roberts, Valiant Editor-in-Chief Warren Simons, Valiant CEO & Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani and Hunter Gorinson, VP Marketing & Communications.
