As The Dark Knight III HC Slips A Week, Retailers Will Be Allowed To Sell It A Day Early

Originally, the collected Dark Knight III: The Master Race by Brian Azzarello, Frank Miller, Andy Kubert, and Klaus Janson was set to see print in hardcover on Wednesday, September 13th in comic stores. This would've been a full six days before bookstores and ordering services such as Amazon would have it out, on the 19th.

However, it has now slipped a week. This means that six-day lead has turned into a one-day delay. In some markets, that could make all the difference.

So DC Comics has done the only thing they can. They are allowing comic stores that get their comics a day early, to put Dark Knight III: The Master Race HC on sale on Tuesday the 19th. Basically, as soon as they get it, rather than, as with their other comics, waiting until Wednesday the 20th. So, not ahead of the bookstores anymore, but at least not behind — by much. As long as they actually get their comics on the Tuesday…
