Arcade Chaser: The Silverball Pinball Museum In Asbury Park, NJ

Just a reminder: I love pinball. A lot. It's kind of a big part of my life. I've known about the Silverball Pinball Museum for years. I went for the first time four years ago, and I try to visit it every so often. It's only a 2 1/2 hour car ride from my house, and it is on the beach. So it's most certainly worth the drive. The museum has a location in both Asbury Park, NJ and Delray Beach, FL, so if you're on the East Coast you have options. Sorry, West Coasters.

The museum has a 600+ piece collection with items dating back to the 1930's. Pieces are rotated regularly, so if you only go once a year you'll see different things. Every single game inside is free play–no need for quarters! The museum offers different rates for guests to enjoy the museum. For example, for $10 you can play for a half hour. $12.50 for one hour, and so on. I think a half day pass (at $15) would be the best bet for most people, depending on how into pinball you are.

The museum was packed today, and for good reason; the weather was awful. The only downside is that people hog machines – some people will switch out if you ask, but be prepared for some attitudes from people. Also, parents, please watch your kids in this place – it's not that hard. But those things have nothing to do with the museum. Silverball is simply amazing, and I can't wait to go back!
