Jonathan Hickman Confirms Jim Lee's News To Bleeding Cool

Jim Lee recently tweeted out the news that he had lunch with Jonathan Hickman. Hickman stepped away from Marvel Comics after his runs that fed into each other on Fantastic Four, Avengers and Secret Wars and has concentrated on his creator-owned work for Image Comics and self-published digital titles, and it was speculated that he might be approached for the DC Rebirth titles earlier last year.

Details of the lunch between Jonathan Hickman and the co-publisher of DC Comics Jim Lee were sketchy, but if eggs are a symbol of Rebirth then this tweet could be interpreted in that fashion.

Other websites got quite excited about this. Comic Book posted "Jim Lee Meets With Jonathan Hickman — Is He Coming To DC Rebirth?" with speculation he might be on Legion. While Newsarama followed up by posting "JIM LEE & JONATHAN HICKMAN Eating Lunch, With a Side of DC REBIRTH Teasing" speculating he could be on Justice League instead, but ending, "Newsarama was unable to reach DC or Hickman for further comment."

So Bleeding Cool does what Bleeding Cool does, and reached out to Jonathan Hickman, who confirmed the news on the record. Consider this a scoop. He told us, "It's true we were having lunch."

You heard it here first. On the record confirmation. You may now go about your business.
