Mike Ybarra Assures Fans Cross-Play Efforts Will Continue

There's been a lot of talk over the past few months about cross-platform compatibility and competition. How some people are destined to bring everyone up into a modern gaming sphere and bring about the dawning of a new era of being able to play against anyone everywhere, and others who are content with keeping the status quo and not playing nice with others for whatever mundane corporate reasoning or childish rights issues they may be clinging to since the late '90s. Well, at least Xbox doesn't feel that way.

That is a tweet sent out yesterday by Corporate VP of Xbox and Windows gaming Mike Ybarra, responding to a story by Game Informer who posted about Sony failing to see the bigger picture and not wanting to pursue cross-play. No other company (Atari, Valve, Nintendo, etc.) made any kind of statement in the same sense, but if Microsoft is working toward the goal then they must be working with someone. At least that's promise for the future that one company is working toward the goal.
