MAD Magazine Writer Stan Hart Has Passed Away

Longtime MAD Magazine writer Stan Hart has passed away according to the magazine's website. Hart was a contributor to MAD from 1962 to 2000, writing dozens of classic comedy articles as well as several of the MAD paperbacks and co-wrote the Off-Broadway musical The MAD Show with Larry Siegel. Hart worked on the 1967 comedic short for Wonder Woman: Who's Afraid of Diana Prince? that is now more infamous than famous, and with Siegel again, worked on The Carol Burnett Show which they one multiple Emmy's for. Hart was a writer for the series 73 episodes over three seasons including season six where he was the head writer.

His other writing credits are the movies Move (1970) and Eat and Run (1986) and on TV with Love American Style (1971), Oh, Nurse! (1972), The Hal Linden Special (1979) and The Wonderful World of Disney (1981), the episode called One Man's Dream.

A couple of the books he wrote for MAD were: MAD Guide to Careers, The MAD Survival Book, MAD's Fast Look At Fast Living and MAD Guide To Parents, Teachers and Other Enemies.

In his retirement, Hart volunteered his time as a writing consultant with a performing arts school called the Youth Theatre Interactions, Inc. in Westchester County.
