The first image of the Mad Titan Thanos as (supposidly) he’ll appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War film from the Russo Brothers for Marvel has been spotted during D23 in Anaheim.
This larger than life statue is at the Marvel booth (no available booth number, sorry) so attendees should definately go check him out and report back to the Bleeding Cool home offices:

Posted to the DailySuperHero.com, the image shows the Mad Titan as we’ve come to know him through the lens of the MCU, and boy does he look formidable.

Just lookit the SIZE of that thing! Booth worker for scale and all.
We first saw Thanos in film form during a post credits scene after the first Avengers movie in 2012 from Joss Whedon, played by actor Damion Poitier. As one of the most notorious Marvel villains, Thanos’s introduction needed to be good, and foreshadow his impact on the various heroes in the future.
The character appeared next in James Gunn‘s Guardians Of The Galaxy, but mostly he just said on his impressive floating throne while his minions ran around and caused problems for the universe. Josh Brolin did the voice work for Thanos, possibly sealing the deal for him to take over the role permanently in the MCU.
Of course NOW he’s pulling double duty by ALSO playing Marvel character Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2 film alongside Ryan Reynolds. Brolin has posted several teases on his instagram of the various steps in his transformation from himself into the futuristic mutant.
Needless to say, excitement for Infinity War is growing, especially with SDCC right around the corner. Will the trailer drop at D23 or in San Diego? Only time will tell.
