What's In The Box?! Our First Review Of The New TeeBlox System

You know what everyone really seems to love from subscription boxes? The t-shirts. Even if it's a bad t-shirt or something from a property you don't understand, no one turns down free clothing that makes you look geeky and shows off the stuff you love. So I got excited when I learned about TeeBlox, a company that's been around for a minute but they just changed their system to a couple different boxes of stuff you can get each month. I got their t-shirts for June Gamer selection in the mail, tried them on, and now I'm ready to review them.

The first one out of the box was the PlayStation t-shirt. This is as simplistic and cool as you can get. You got all four colored buttons that everyone has been familiar with for over two decades on your chest, against a solid black background. The symbols are given that slightly faded look, where you've owned the shirt for years and now the ink is cracking from the washing machine and time. It works very well, and the ink used on this one isn't too far raised up so you can feel it but it isn't noticeable.

It's 100% cotton, but it's also a pretty light shirt. Not thin and form-fitting, but also not heavy and thick—the PlayStation shirt sits in that nice middle ground of feeling like a shirt you've worn 100 times over but it still feels great. This was, at least to me, the better of the two.

The second shirt will be a fantastic addition for Minecraft fans, as it depicts a squid with better arms attacking a ship in a storm. The illustration is killer as it feels like something you'd come across that was painted on wood back in the 1800's. The details of the ship, the ocean, the weather and the arms are all well done, and seeing that weird-eyed derp face of a Minecraft squid take hold of the ship is priceless. It's one of those shirts that the minute a fellow player sees it, they'll get it and want one of their own.

This shirt is also 100% cotton, made by Jinx, and is slightly thicker material than the other. The only reason I didn't like this shirt as much is that I'm not that big of a Minecraft fan. But that isn't taking away the quality of the shirt or the game itself, it's simply personal preference and I just wasn't as into it as much as the other shirt.

Overall, both shirts are killer. Being this is my first box of the new TeeBlox system, I would say it's a good subscription to have if you're looking for a new wardrobe and you're not terribly picky about what you get. Chances are you'll be like me where you get one you dig and one you kinda dig. But regardless, this is a good box to try out if you love shirts. I personally can't wait to see what comes my way in July.
