Report: Reginald Hudlin Will Direct Valiant’s ‘Shadowman’ Movie

Writer, director, producer, and TV executive Reginald Hudlin will be bringing his talents to Shadowman, the upcoming film produced by Valiant Entertainment and based on the comic book character of the same name.

Reported this morning by THR, Hudlin will team with Salem screenwriter and man with two first names, Adam Simon, to rewrite the script which was originally written by writer and man whose name we’ve learned to spell from memory, J. Michael Straczynski, who will remain an executive producer on the project.

Created by¬†Jim Shooter, Steve Englehart, and Mike Manley, Shadowman’s alter ego, Jack Boniface, is a New Orleans musician granted special abilities and voodoo powers by a spirit. It’s unknown which version of Shadowman from Valiant’s history will be used for the film, but with his strong comics background, fans can trust Hudlin to do the character justice, whatever the source material.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
