Things To Do In Denver When You're Hydra – Today's Secret Empire Comics

Just the one Secret Empire comic book out this week. Brave New World #1, a few short stories looking at how a variety of Marvel characters are coping with the changes to the new world order. That has such people in it.

So we have Namor as Switzerland. Or Ireland.

While the new Giant Man deals with a new Hydra takeover.

But you know what Giant-Man? It might be a good idea to stay where you are…

img_6541

That's that bit in the World War II story where someone says "Yeah, come to Hiroshima, the weather's great!" While Gwenpool is busy plugging her latest work.

The Namor chapter does its best to fadd something significant in the Secret Empire world, while the Giant Man episode is aimiable filler and the Gwenpool chapter are minutes I will never get back. But how empirical is it overall?

So let's look out further. Are there Secret Empire notes elsewhere?

The Civil War II spinoff that set up Secret Empire, The Oath, wasn't written by Brian Bendis but by Nick Spencer.

Nick wrote a number of Civil War II tie-in issues of his comics that explained Captain America's actions in the series including some much needed narrative to back up the killing of The Hulk in Civil War II #3.

But Brian Bendis seems not to have chosen to play in the Secret Empire. The Miles Morales-killing-Captain America plotline seems to be paying out in Secret Empire…

… but the Spider-Man monthly comic is not, neither is Defenders, neither are Infamous Iron Man or Invincible Iron Man, he left Guardians Of The Galaxy before it tied in with Secret Empire and Jessica Jones isn't involved either. Marvel's most prominent and prolific writer at Marvel right now has chosen not to tie anything in with its big summer event.

Or has he?

Here's the listing for next month's Jessica Jones.

JESSICA JONES #10
BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS (W)  • MICHAEL GAYDOS (A)
Cover by DAVID MACK
Variant Cover by Martin Simmonds
• The mysteries of Maria Hill. Ousted by the world peacekeeping task force she dedicated her life to, Maria Hill has no choice but to turn to Jessica Jones to help her find…the last secrets.
32 PGS./Parental Advisory …$3.99

And here's the cover. The comic is not labelled as a Secret Empire crossover. But is it close?

Could some Hydra heads be in order?
