Funko Superior Spider-Man And Other Exclusives Coming To Walgreens And Hot Topic

A new wave of Marvel Funko exclusives will be hitting Hot Topic and Walgreens this June/July, and at least one of them is a much-requested figure: Funko Superior Spider-Man.

Some additional details: Hot Topic will be getting an exclusive blue version of Venom. This is a straight repaint of the black Venom figure, right down to the stuck-out tongue. Hot Topic has had Venom-related exclusives before, so that's also nothing new.

The other three exclusives are heading into Walgreens stores. Man, they have really stepped up their toy and action figure game these last couple years. Not only with Funko exclusives, but they get exclusive Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series from Hasbro, exclusive WWE figures from Mattel, and are often the first place to get new waves of all sorts of figures. They've had just as many Funko exclusives as any other retailer, most items being highly desirable. This wave will be no different.

First from the Dorbz line, we are getting an Iron Spidey and a Taskmaster! Taskmaster is an instant buy for me, one of my favorite characters and one of the cooler designs I've seen in a while. I was never a fan of the Iron Spidey suit, but it has its fans and should be popular.

The real story here is the Pop version of Superior Spider-Man. The Doc Ock Spidey was a fan favorite when the series was going, and the sculpt here is pretty incredible. They really nailed the eyes — one would think the stingers, but the eyes are the first thing I notice when I see a Spidey figure of any kind. The suit itself was personally my favorite part of the Superior Spider-Man run; I love the tech aspect of all of it, and they really got that look right here. This will be the tough one out of all of these to get, so keep an eye on shelves and Walgreens.com for preorders. It will sell out fast.
