'Star Wars: Episode IX' And 'Indiana Jones 5' Get Release Dates

1280px-star_wars_logoIt appears that a holiday tradition isn't going the way we planned. After three movies in the December months StarWars.com announced today that Star Wars: Episode IX will move its release date to May 24, 2019. With the untitled Han Solo project also moving to May perhaps it's time we associate Star Wars with a new holiday. Summer holidays for the Northern Hemisphere? The movie will be directed by Colin Treverrow and will be the end of the third trilogy of films There is currently no information on Star Wars films post 2019. Thus far the other titles with claims to that day are Minecraft: The Movie, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, and The Billion Brick Race.

indiana-jonesStarWars.com also got to announce that the fifth Indiana Jones movie also snagged some prime real estate with it's release date of July 10, 2020. June and July are often considered two of the best months to release high blockbusters with May coming in a close second. Both Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg. Something interesting of note, however, is that IMDB currently lists an Untitled Marvel Project holds the same date. Surely Disney won't have two major franchises buying for the same weekend so something is likely going to get delayed. We'll keep an eye on the date and see what happens.

EDIT: I forgot how to roman numeral in my headline. Fixed.
