The Nerdologues, a comedy group, have launched a crowdfunding campaign for their second game, Competition Kitchen, on Kickstarter. Competition Kitchen is a cooking show party game where you get to be the rockstar chefs and celebrity judges. If fully funded, the game is set to release summer/fall 2017. All of the art for the game was created by Kevin Budnik.

The Kickstarter campaign is run by that duo of Chicago natives, and Reader currently works for Cards Against Humanity, but this new project comes out of friendly rivalry over the game Werewolf. The two teamed up to make the party game Competition Kitchen.

"Imagine if you could play Iron Chef at home, but you don't have to keep a squid in your bathtub," said designer Kevin Reader.

"We found that we really loved competitive cooking shows, and wanted to find a way to bring that experience to people's homes," was the comment from designer Joe Gennaro.

The duo managed an endorsement from Mario Battali. Yeah, kind of an interesting endorsement for a party game.

As the campaign page reads:

"It's fantastic to see the concept of Competition Kitchen come to life. I loved incorporating secret ingredients in the Batali kitchen while teaching my kids how to cook, and now the world can play too!! Wheeeeeee!"Mario Batali, Award-Winning Restaurateur and Author

Reader and Gennaro have managed to get contributions from a host of celebrity chefs including:

Mario Batali (Chef)
Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa)
J. Kenji López-Alt (The Food Lab / Serious Eats)
Graham Elliot (Cooking Like a Master Chef)
Claudia Wu (Cherry Bombe)
Marc Summers (Double Dare / Unwrapped)
Dan Pashman (The Sporkful)

Not bad for a party game about food, huh? You can check out the campaign here. They've raised $3,625 USD of their $15,000 USD goal with 25 days left in the campaign.
