In Need Of Some Creative Assistance? Reckless Deck Is Here!

reckless-deck-1

This one isn't so much a traditional game as it is a creative resource disguised as a game, but you can certainly make a game of using Reckless Deck if that's what you're into. It's a pretty basic pack of cards, if your pack of cards normally come with ideas on them. You can use Reckless Deck to tell you what to draw, write, or design – anything you can think of, Reckless Deck can probably help.

Sure, you could always go with one of those online writing or drawing prompt lists, or even go with a fancier site that pulls one at random. But they're never anything particularly nice to look at are they? And they also lack that visceral satisfaction that comes with dramatically drawing a card from a specialized deck. And hey, Reckless Deck is definitely pretty to look at.

The project is over on Kickstarter and fully funded, but they're chugging away at their stretch goals as we speak. As of writing, the project had already unlocked it's Worlds deck, which is a "full 72 card deck devoted to idea generating for environments. Whether you're a concept artist specializing in environment art, or a writer keen on doing some serious world building for your novel, stories, or comics, there's now a full sized Reckless Deck just for you." Which seems like the sort of thing you'd find handy as a writer or artist.

The next stretch goal for Reckless Deck  is a collector's edition box which would hold up to 5 separate decks and feature some fancy art and a Wonderland Expansion pack.

There are still rewards levels open and you've got more than enough time to get in on the project if you're in need of some creative assistance.
