Are We Getting Sandman In The DC Rebirth Universe As Well As Watchmen Then?

We've all seen the Watchmen logos. The presence of Dr Manhattan on the cover to DC Rebirth Special. The Watchmen button with the Comedian's blood in the Batcave. The involvement of Manhattan in reshaping the DC Universe and removing time. And the possible presence of Ozymandias as Mr Oz. The references keep coming – though I couldn't find any in today's Titans, the first issue of Made In Manhattan. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

But there was a reference to something – or someone else – in Justice League: Rebirth #1 out today, in the back. Looking ahead. As Killer Frost confronts… someone.

The illusion of choice. The cloak. The chains. That's Destiny of The Endless.

Destiny is the Endless character that Neil Gaiman didn't create or co-create, like Cain and Abel, Destiny existed as an established DC Universe character created by Marv Wolfman and Bernie Wrightson, before he was absorbed into the Sandman storylines.

And since then, he's appeared occasionally, in Brave And The Bold and Chronos, but not for a very long time.

So while DC hasn't used Sandman characters without consultation and permission of Neil Gaiman, aside from a rogue issue of Captain Atom that everyone has tried to forget, could this be a way for DC to bring in a bit of Sandman alongside the Watchmen?

And is that sister generic? Or is Killer Frost someone else as well?
