Watchmen Lenticular Covers For Batman And Flash "The Button" Story Won't Be In Previews – Retailers Have To Order Now

animated-gif4We may have been intrigued by this lenticular cover of Batman #21 by Jason Fabok. But the comic will only be available in the US and Canada where the Smiley face image is public domain. However, in Europe, it has been trademarked by The Smiley Company. And rather than pay the fee, over this side of the pond we will be getting a special international version.

Also, just in case Alan Moore or Dave Gibbons pass by and see it in a shop window.

But Europeans will be able to order lenticular covers for the other three chapters. However, if any retailer wants to order the lenticular versions of the comic, it's no good waiting until Previews April orders are due. Orders for these lenticular covers, because of the production process, will be outside Previews. And will have to be in for the first Batman and Flash issues by February 13th.

Why DC couldn't have solicited them earlier, we do not know. And unless retailers rise up as one and say "Oy!" that's probably not going to change.

Here are those order dates.
