Attack On Titan Editor, Charged With The Killing Of His Wife In August

afr1701100010-p1Park Jung-Hyun, the first editor of Attack On Titan when it launched in 2009, and current editor of the Weekly Morning manga series at Kodansha, has been arrested on the charge of the murder of his wife.

According to Sankei News (via Tokyo Reporter), in August, the 41 year old editor reported that his wife had collapsed at their home in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. An hour later she was confirmed as dead, an autopsy revealing she had been suffocated at the neck. The report states that he initially said she fell down the stairs, then that she hanged herself off a handrail. However, after not finding sufficient evidence to back the claim of suicide, an investigation was launched and Park Jung-Hyun arrested.

The couple had four children together.
