Albert Uderzo's Paintings And Drawings Burn To The Ground

On Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in home of the 90 year old comic book artist Albert Uderzo and co-creator of Asterix, in Tartre-Gaudran, France.

The outbuilding in question was completely destroyed by the flames and appears to be the result of a short circuit.

This hangar recently housed a fighter plane: a Mirage 2000 belonging to Uderzo, before he donated it a few months ago to an air base in Burgundy.

Since then, it had been turned into a working shed and Uderzo had decorated the place with his own paintings and drawings.

They have all been destroyed in the fire…
