Agents Of SHIELD Acknowledge Comic Origins In Latest Promo Poster

To go with the mid-60's fan of superspys like James Bond and The Man from UNCLE, Marvel comics started off a new run in their on-going Strange Tales comic series featuring Nick Fury. No longer the head of the Howling Commandos, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby put Fury as the head of a secret spy agency called SHIELD and introduced such fan favorite technology as the Helicarrier, the flying car and Life Model Decoys (LMDs). This is also where Hydra became a thing. This is also where Jim Steranko made his mark on the character. Fury appeared in Strange Tales from #135 (1965) until #168 (1968)

With the introduction of LMD's with AIDA this season, Agents of SHIELD will be making them the focus when the series returns on January 10th and you can see Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), who has already been replaced, on the latest promo poster with the headers: "Strange Tales".
