DC Chooses It's Own Top 10 Moments Of 2016 And It's Telling

As the year draws to an end, it's normal for comic sites to do up top 10 lists varying from the top comics of the year to the top costume changes. The next two weeks will be filled with these kind of list… but DC has went ahead and made their own, pointing out what they think are their best moments of the year. Where that seems a bit self-aggrandizing over all, I was a bit surprised at some of their choices. In the #10 slot is the two-month Justice League vs Suicide Squad event… that hasn't even come out yet. A book that comes out the second to last Wednesday of the year is one of the top moments in 2016.

From there, in a clever bit of spin, is Ben Affleck's debut as Batman. Not the Batman vs Superman movie, but Ben Affleck's part in it. Another interesting note is that higher on the list than either BvS or Suicide Squad is the trailer for Wonder Woman. That's not a good sign when a movie trailer beats out the two movies you actually released. And higher than all their movie stuff… the four-series TV crossover with Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. This should be a sign to DC of what they are getting right and what they are getting wrong.

Other things on the list were well justified like Rebirth, the return of Classic Superman, Young Animals and the introduction of DC'S Super Hero Girls. But it's interesting that even in a video meant to hype the company, you can see they recognize some of their own short comings.
