Valiant And Big Viking Partner For Mobile Games, Genetic Experimentation

Revealed a press release today, comic book publisher Valiant Entertainment has partnered with mobile game studio Big Viking to "convert Valiant's massive library of characters and stories into mobile instant gaming experiences focused on new gaming platforms such as the recently launched Facebook Messenger." It's clear that Big Viking know what they're doing as far as games, because the phrase HTML5 is mentioned no less than four times in the press release. But the really shocking part is buried deep in the email, in a quote from Big Viking CEO Albert Lai:

It's an honor to partner with Valiant and bring their incredibly rich and deep catalogue of characters and stories to new and exciting platforms on mobile. We have always been huge fans of their comics, and the executive team has done an incredible job bringing Valiant to the forefront of the comic world over the years. Valiant and Big Viking share a very similar core ideology, which is to 'make fans,' and I believe this partnership will make millions of new fans for both companies.

Hold on now! "Make fans?" They should have led with that!

Here at Bleeding Cool we are very technically savvy. For instance, it only took us several weeks to figure out how to block our own obnoxious autoplay video ads. However, we were unaware that HTML5, as superior as it is to Flash, offered human genetic cloning capabilities.

Perhaps the most shocking part is that Valiant and Big Viking plan to make millions of these fans right off the bat, without even testing out whether the clones will turn psycho, go on murder rampages, and eventually melt into piles of goo.

Valiant has always been known for their aggressive marketing. For example, there was the time that Valiant shipped double the number of copies ordered of the Faith #5 Election Special featuring Hillary Clinton to comic shops in hopes that the shops would give them away to customers and get them to try Valiant comics. Creating fans through HTML5 genetic experimentation is just the next logical step here, and we applaud Valiant for pushing the boundaries of comics and ethics to make it happen.

Asked for comment on the legality of these experiments, Valiant CEO Dinesh Shamdasani replied, "Sure is toasty!"

Oh no! Noooo!

Well, at least we'll get to see games featuring X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman, Archer & Armstrong, and more in the future.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
